Scenario: 2 x ESXi 5.1 Hosts and vCenter is not available. Accessing both hosts directly via the vsphere client.
Can view list of VMs running on each hosts and would like to move one of the VMs to the other host. I know I can shut the host down and HA will move the VM over and power it up but this affects all the VMs on the powered down host which I want to avoid.
I can power down the target VM but remove from the inventory is greyed out as vcenter is unavailable so I cant remove and add on the other host.
Is there another way to move a powered down VM in such a situation without resorting to HA or converting the VM to an OVF file?
Thanks, Rosco
